General Description/Purpose

You will learn the skills necessary to become a journeyman by working with a master plumber. As you gain experience, you may begin to complete some duties independently or with limited supervision. These duties include identifying drain issues, clearing clogged pipes, installing plumbing fixtures, and completing cost estimates.

Essential Job Functions

• Help plumbers, pipefitters, steamfitters, or pipelayers by performing duties requiring less skill.
• Duties include using, supplying, or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work areas and equipment.
• Plumbing Level I (fall) and Plumbing Level II (spring) prepare students for basic installation and maintenance of plumbing systems and components and explore plumbing code, permitting, and math.

Required Qualifications
 

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
• Quick learner
• Familiar with common hand tools
